1. Overview
NPL Live ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile application that provides live cricket scores, match schedules, results and cricket news. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it.
The short version: NPL Live has no sign-up, no login and no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other personal detail, and we do not operate a database of users. Your settings stay on your phone. The only information leaving your device goes to the third-party services described below, which deliver notifications and advertisements.
By downloading or using NPL Live, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the app.
2. What we do not collect
We do not request, collect, store or transmit any of the following:
- Names, usernames, email addresses or phone numbers
- Passwords or account credentials — the app has no login system
- Payment or financial information
- Contacts, call logs, SMS messages or calendar entries
- Photos, videos, files or microphone audio
- Precise GPS location
- Health, biometric or any other sensitive personal information
The app does not read data belonging to other apps on your device, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
3. Information collected automatically
Like most mobile apps, NPL Live relies on third-party service providers. Those providers may automatically receive limited technical information when you use the app. This information is not linked to your identity by us and we cannot use it to identify you personally.

This processing is carried out by those providers under their own privacy policies. We only view aggregated, anonymous reports.
4. Data stored on your device
NPL Live stores a small amount of data locally on your phone so the app works quickly and remembers how you like it:
- Preferences — theme, language, favourite teams and notification settings
- Cached content — recently loaded scores, schedules and news articles, so content appears instantly and can be viewed briefly when your connection drops
- Basic app state — such as whether you have seen the onboarding screens
This data is kept in your device's local storage and shared preferences. It never leaves your phone, and we have no access to it. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the app's storage in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app.
5. Push notifications
NPL Live uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send notifications about match starts, live score updates, results and breaking cricket news.
To make this work, Firebase generates an anonymous registration token for your app installation. This token identifies a device installation, not a person — it contains no name, email or phone number, and it changes if you reinstall the app or clear its data.
Notifications are optional. You can turn them off at any time from your device's system settings for NPL Live, or from the in-app settings screen where available. Turning them off does not affect any other feature of the app.
6. Advertising and sponsored links
NPL Live is free to use and is supported in two ways: network advertising through Google AdMob, and sponsored links placed directly by us. These work differently, so we describe each separately.
6.1 Network advertising (Google AdMob)
Most advertisements in the app are delivered through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and similar technologies to show relevant ads and measure their performance.
You control this:
- Android: Settings › Google › Ads, where you can delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation.
- Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: where required, the app presents a consent message through Google's User Messaging Platform before personalised ads are shown. You may change or withdraw your choice from the app's settings or privacy options screen.

We do not control which specific ads are shown through AdMob. If you see an advertisement that is inappropriate or misleading, please report it to us at the address in Section 17 so we can raise it with Google.
6.2 Custom sponsored links
The app also displays a small number of sponsored links, banners and promotional cards that we arrange directly with sponsors and partners. These may appear on the home screen, alongside match or news content, or in a dedicated section of the app.
Sponsored placements work differently from network ads:
- They are fixed items we configure ourselves and load from our own content feed. Which sponsored link you see is the same for everyone, or based only on the general section of the app you are viewing.
- They do not use your advertising identifier, and they are not personalised or targeted using your behaviour, interests or profile.
- We do not give sponsors any information about you. We do not pass on device identifiers, tokens or usage data, and sponsors receive no list of users.
- We may receive anonymous, aggregated counts of how many times a sponsored link was displayed or tapped. These totals contain no information that identifies an individual.
- Sponsored content is labelled — for example as "Sponsored", "Ad" or "Partner" — so you can tell it apart from editorial cricket coverage.
When you tap a sponsored link, it opens the sponsor's website in your browser, or opens their app or a store listing. At that point you leave NPL Live and this Privacy Policy stops applying. The sponsor's own site will see your IP address, browser or device type and referral information in the normal course of serving a web page, and it may set its own cookies. We have no control over and take no responsibility for the privacy practices, content, products or services of sponsors. Please read their privacy policy before providing them with any information.
Some sponsored or affiliate links may earn us a commission if you make a purchase. This never changes the price you pay, and we receive no personal details about your purchase — only aggregate referral totals from the partner.
Displaying a sponsored link is not an endorsement, and any dealing or transaction you enter into with a sponsor is strictly between you and them. If you believe a sponsored link in the app is misleading, unsafe or inappropriate, tell us at the address in Section 17 and we will review and remove it.
7. Third-party services
The app uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Play Services — https://policies.google.com/privacy

- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (anonymous usage and crash reporting) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google AdMob (advertising) — https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Score, fixture and news content is retrieved from public cricket data sources and news feeds. Requesting that content sends a standard network request that includes your IP address, as any internet connection does.
We do not share information with advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies beyond the services named above.
8. App permissions
NPL Live requests only the permissions it needs to function:
- Internet and network state — to load live scores, news and ads, and to detect when you are offline
- Post notifications (Android 13+) — to show match and news alerts; you may decline this and continue using the app
- Vibrate / wake lock — so notifications alert you as your system settings dictate
- Foreground service (only in builds offering live match tracking) — to keep score updates current during a live match
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, storage, SMS or precise location.
9. Children's privacy
NPL Live is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because the app has no registration and collects no personal details, there is no user data for a parent or guardian to request. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app in any way, contact us at the address in Section 17 and we will investigate and remove anything found.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (Europe and the UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California). These include the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your data, and the right to object to it.
Since NPL Live holds no personal information about you, in practice you can exercise these rights directly:
- Delete all app data — clear the app's storage in your device settings, or uninstall the app
- Stop notification data — disable notifications, which invalidates the push token for your installation
- Reset ad identifiers — reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings
- Withdraw ad consent — reopen the privacy options screen in the app where the consent message is shown
- Data held by Google — request access or deletion through your Google Account controls at https://myaccount.google.com/
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in the sense defined by California law. If you have a question or a request, write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
11. Data security
Network requests made by the app use encrypted HTTPS connections. Because we do not run user accounts or store personal information on our side, there is no user database that could be exposed in a breach.
Data held on your device is protected by your device's own security — screen lock, encryption and Android's app sandbox. No method of electronic transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we design the app to hold as little data as possible, which is the strongest protection we can offer.
12. Data retention
Preferences and cached content stay on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. We retain nothing ourselves, because we collect nothing that identifies you.
Data processed by Firebase and AdMob is retained according to Google's own retention schedules, described in their privacy policies linked in Section 7.
13. International transfers
The third-party services used by the app operate servers in multiple countries, so the technical data described in Section 3 may be processed outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Those providers rely on their own safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, for such transfers.
14. External links and content
News items and sponsored placements in the app may lead to external websites and articles. Opening one takes you outside NPL Live, and this policy no longer applies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Please read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
15. Content disclaimer
NPL Live is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially connected to any cricket board, league, tournament organiser, broadcaster or team. All team names, tournament names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and informational purposes only.
Scores, statistics and news are gathered from publicly available sources and are provided for general information. Delays or errors can occur, and the app does not stream or rebroadcast any live match footage.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app develops or as legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted at this same address with a new "last updated" date. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app or through a notification where appropriate.
Continuing to use NPL Live after an update means you accept the revised policy. We suggest reviewing this page from time to time.
